Beasley hosts NIT basketball on big screen

The first round of Cougar tournament basketball will be shown for free on the big screen at Beasley coliseum at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. Concessions will be available.

The Cougars play St. Mary’s in Moraga, Calif., in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. WSU’s allotment of 100 general admission tickets sold out in the first hour. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

The Cougars are the seventh seed in the San Diego State region.

“We have had great success in the past with a lot of people attending and creating a good Cougar atmosphere,” said Leo Udy, director of the Beasley. “Don’t miss it!”

The winner of the game will play the winner of South Carolina/Davidson in the tournament’s second round. The semifinals and finals of the 32-team tournament will be played at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
