RICHLAND — Two films by director Spike Lee will be shown at WSU Tri-Cities in celebration of Black History Month.
“School Daze,” a comedic look at student life at a historically black college, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11.
“Do the Right Thing,” about racial tensions on a hot summer day at the height of hip-hop culture will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
The films will be shown in the East Auditorium, 2710 University Drive, Richland. Admission is free and open to the public.
The films are sponsored by the student Mutilcultural Club in conjunction with the WSU Tri-Cities Comparative Ethnic Studies class, “African American Literature,” taught by Assistant Professor Susan Pramschufer. The course is an introduction to major issues and major works in the African-American literary tradition.
