Niva Reappointed to WSU Board of Regents

PULLMAN – Connie Niva of Everett has been reappointed by Gov. Chris Gregoire to the Board of Regents of WSU. Niva’s appointment runs through Sept. 30, 2014.

“Connie has been an outstanding contributor to the board. Her insight and experience will be particularly valuable to us all as we deal with the impact of the current financial situation,” said President Elson S. Floyd.

A WSU graduate, Niva was appointed to the Board of Regents in June 2003. She also served two terms on the Washington State Transportation Commission. She is a founding member of the board of the Center for Women and Democracy. She was a member of the Everett City Council from 1986-1990 and was the congressional liaison for the Puget Sound Water Quality Authority from 1990-93.

Niva served as vice chair of the Board of Regents in 2006-2007 and as chair for 2007-2008.
