WSU submitting budget scenarios to Senate

Universities statewide, at the request of the Washington Senate, are submitting 12 and 18 percent budget-reduction scenarios. President Elson S. Floyd provides an update on that process today, Feb. 6,  including important remiders that:
  • The budget discussions are still at a preliminary stage.
  • The Legislature is weeks, even months, away from approving any final budget package. And until that budget is finalized, we will not know the exact size of the cuts we will have to make.
  • WSU is gathering and taking money-saving steps now, which will reduce the amount we will need to cut later.
