Proposal: Regents to discuss early retirement incentive

PULLMAN – A proposed voluntary early retirement incentive (VERI) will be among the topics discussed this afternoon, Jan. 29, by the WSU Board of Regents’ Finance and Audit Committee at WSU Vancouver.
 
Initiating a retirement incentive program is among more than 500 suggestions submitted by members of the WSU community to the University Budget Committee to help prepare for upcoming statewide budget cuts that are expected to range from 12 to 18 percent.

Several Regents committees will meet today in preparation for Friday’s Regent’s meeting, beginning at noon in Firstenburg Student Commons. For a list of the committee meetings click here. For an agenda of the Finance and Audit Committee meeting, click here.
 
On Friday, the Regents are slated to discus building projects, including Phase I of the School for Global Animal Health Building and the refurbishment of Stephenson North and McEachern Residence Halls, all on the Pullman campus.
