Financial Aid Application New Priority Filing Date for WSU Students is Feb. 15

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University students seeking grants, work-study, scholarships or loans for the 2009-2010 school year should file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 15.

Completion of a FAFSA before the priority date is an important step for any student seeking assistance for the upcoming school year, said Chio Flores, WSU’s Acting Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

“We encourage students to submit the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, by February 15 to be considered for the maximum funding possible”, she said.

Students who completed the FAFSA for the 2008-2009 academic year should file a Renewal FAFSA online for the 2009-2010 year. “The FAFSA must be completed each year, so students who are currently receiving aid in 2008-2009 need to complete the FAFSA for 2009-2010,” said Flores.

The WSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships administers a variety of aid programs from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. By completing a FAFSA, students will be considered for assistance, regardless of family income.

Additional information on completing the FAFSA, financial aid and scholarships can be obtained through the WSU Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, Room 380, Lighty Student Services Building, on the Web at www.finaid.wsu.edu or by calling 509-335-9711.
