RICHLAND, Wash. Future and current college students and their families can get free help with financial aid and finding scholarships Saturday, Jan. 31, at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
The session is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes help filing the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and how to search for scholarships on the Web.
Families planning to work on the FAFSA should bring their 2008 financial records (recent tax forms and/or pay stubs), and students need to bring their Social Security number and driver’s license (if any). Even if families do not have all of their paperwork together they are still encouraged to attend the event to get the process started. Families should also bring their FAFSA personal identification number, although the PIN is not required to attend and can be established during the session.
The help session is in the West Building Room 145 computer lab, 2710 University Drive, Richland. Admission is free and open to the public, regardless of which college or university the student plans to attend.
