Vancouver invites community to day of service

WSU Vancouver invites community members to join students, staff and faculty for the Martin Luther King Day of Service event Jan. 19.
 
Schedule
9 a.m. – Registration and light refreshments
 
9:20 a.m. – Presentation by Jorge Lizárraga, diversity faculty fellow, Firstenburg Student Commons
 
10 a.m. – Service projects: Quilting for the needy (on campus); elementary school beautification; landscaping with Habitat for Humanity; sorting canned goods at a food bank; planting trees in watershed.
 
Parking and transportation
All campus parking lots are available for free public use during the event. Transportation to the projects and back to WSU Vancouver will not be provided; carpooling is encouraged.
