Psychology of Color, digital consortium

RICHLAND —  How to use color to break through the thousands of marketing message we receive each day is the topic of a lecture at 1:30 Thurday, Dec. 11 by graphic designer Sara Nelson.

“The Psychology of Color”  at WSU Tri-Cities, in room 133 of the West Building, 2710 University Drive, Richland. Admission is free and open to the public. The lecture is part of the Fall 2008 WSU Tri-Cities Digital Consortium.

“The bigger the crowd of advertisers, the louder the noise, the harder to hear and the less people care about messages being sent,” Nelson said.

“The competition is less other companies and more the noise, itself. In sanity’s self-defense, our ears are closing,” she said. “But wise and appropriate use of color can still help a message to sound loud and clear, above the noise.”

After years of design work in the corporate world and as an after-hours freelancer, she established Sara Nelson Design in 1997. The Kennewick business now has four employees.
