PULLMAN – Open enrollment for medical/dental insurance, flex plan deductions and other employee benefits continues through Nov. 30.
A newsletter explaining 2009 plans, changes and rates was mailed to all employees’ home addresses; it is the only mailing regarding open enrollment. Go ONLINE @ www.pebb.hca.wa.gov/documents/empoct2008.pdf to access the newsletter.
Employees are encouraged to read the newsletter, even if they plan to stick with their current coverage. Premium and benefit changes may prompt new plan choices.
New adult dependent category
Adult dependent is a new category for medical/dental coverage. It allows employees to enroll unmarried children ages 20-24 who are not in school.
Adult dependent is a new category for medical/dental coverage. It allows employees to enroll unmarried children ages 20-24 who are not in school.
Eligible adult dependents enroll under a separate account, and the full monthly cost of health coverage must be paid to the state Health Care Authority. Adult dependents are not eligible to be covered under an employee’s plan, nor can premiums be paid via payroll deduction. Adult dependents must enroll in the same medical and/or dental plan(s) as the employee, unless the dependent lives outside the employee’s plan’s service area.
To enroll an adult dependent, complete and submit an Adult Dependent Enrollment/Change form to the state Public Employees Benefits Board program. The form is available ONLINE @ www.pebb.hca.wa.gov or by calling 1-800-200-1004. Enrollment can occur either during open enrollment or within 60 days of the child qualifying for adult dependent coverage (for example, within 60 days of the child losing student eligibility).
