WSU Tri-Cities Cougar Saturday Answers Questions For Prospective Students

RICHLAND, Wash. — Learn about Washington State University Tri-Cities academic programs, student life and financial aid during Cougar Saturday on Nov. 15.
 
The information fair is from 9 a.m. to noon at WSU Tri-Cities in the Consolidated Information Center, Room 120, at 2770 University Drive, Richland. For directions to the campus, go to www.tricity.wsu.edu, click on “visit.” Admission is free and open to the public. Families are welcome. Pre-registration is not needed.
 
Academic advisors and professors will be at Cougar Saturday to answer specific questions about degrees — 17 programs are offered for freshmen and transfer students. Admissions advisors also will be on hand to explain the application process, how to enroll for class, student activities, scholarships and more.
 
Breakout sessions include:
  • 10:30 a.m. — Graduate School application and information. master degrees are available in biology, business administration, chemistry, computer science, counseling, educational leadership, literacy, electrical engineering, environmental science, mechanical engineering and nursing. Doctoral degrees include computer science, educational leadership, teacher leadership, electrical engineering, environmental and natural resources sciences, and mechanical engineering.
  • 11 a.m. — Civil Engineering, which is offered at the 100 through 300 levels.

Applications are being accepted now for spring semester, which begins Jan. 12, and for the fall 2009 semester, which begins Aug. 24. The priority application deadline to start Graduate School next fall is Jan. 10.
 
WSU Tri-Cities is located along the Columbia River in Richland, Wash. Established in 1989 with upper division and graduate programs. The campus added freshman and sophomore courses in fall 2007 to become a full four-year public university, extending the WSU land-grant mission of providing affordable, accessible higher education.
