Campus visitors should plan ahead for weekend

PULLMAN – People coming to campus for Dad’s Weekend are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid possible traffic and parking problems.  Events on Friday and Saturday will bring many people to campus.

On Friday night at 7, the WSU women’s volleyball team takes on UCLA in Bohler Gym.

On Saturday, events include football versus Arizona at 2 p.m. in Martin Stadium. The Montgomery Gentry concert follows at 8:30 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.

“Having these major events on campus is exciting, and we want to get the word out to people to be ready for the parking and traffic challenges,” said Bridgette Johnson, field operations manager for parking and transportation.

Parking and transportation officials are working with Pullman Transit, WSU Athletics and Beasley Coliseum officials to offer alternatives to help ease parking and traffic problems.  A comprehensive website with the football parking game plan can be found at  https://www.parking wsu.edu.

People can use Pullman Transit to get to the game and/or the Montgomery Gentry concert.  Pullman Transit will provide its usual Saturday service along with extra bus service for the home game.  For information on which bus route would be best for you, contact Pullman Transit at 509/332-6535 or the WSU Visitor Center at 509/335-INFO (4636).

Visitors who don’t want to fight traffic between the game and the Beasley event may take advantage of several on-campus dining options at the CUB or the WSU dining centers, including the Hillside Café, the Northside Café and the  Southside Café.  Concessions will also be available at Martin Stadium and Beasley Coliseum.
