PULLMAN — Police from Washington State University and the city of Pullman are currently investigating three assaults that happened on or near campus in the past week.
The most recent assault occurred in the parking garage of the Center for Undergraduate Education on Monday evening. A person was assaulted by a lone male who expressed bias against members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.
It now appears that the other two assaults being investigated may have been motivated by similar bias. An assault on a single victim occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 16 behind Scott-Coman. A single victim reported an assault by three people on Oct. 18 on College Hill within the jurisdiction of the city of Pullman.
Police do not know if the incidents are connected.
Anyone who has any information regarding the assaults is encouraged to contact the Washington State University Police Department at 335-8548 or 332-2521, or the Pullman Police Department at 334-0802.
