Mittelhammer elected president of AAEA

PULLMAN – Ron C. Mittelhammer, a Regents Professor and director of WSU’s School of Economic Sciences, has been elected President of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, his professional organization.
 
The Agricultural and Applied Economics Association is a non-profit organization headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis. The AAEA is committed to furthering knowledge about the economics of agriculture, rural communities, and natural resources.
 
Mittelhammer served on the executive board of AAEA from 2003-2006. He was awarded the AAEA Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award in 2001, and the AAEA Award for Professional Excellence for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in 1978.
 
“I am truly thrilled that I will be presiding as President of this venerable Association during its 100th year Centennial celebration,” Mittelhammer said.
