“You’ve Been COUGed” signs on sale

VANCOUVER – WSU Cougars will participate on Nov. 22 in the 101st annual Apple Cup football game against the University of Washington Huskies in Pullman at Martin Stadium.

Local Cougar supporters can show their spirit by “COUGing” fellow fans or UW Husky fans, by purchasing a “You’ve been COUGed” sign in to be displayed in yards the week of the Apple Cup.

Signs can be ordered through the WSU Vancouver Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The cost is $40 each or two for $75. Current students will be delivering signs prior to the Apple Cup, and in addition, WSU Vancouver is offering the ability for a few dollars more to have the sign delivered by Butch T. Cougar, the WSU Mascot.

A portion of the cost will go to support WSU Vancouver’s Student Leader Scholarship, which is awarded to future alumni leaders. The scholarship will be awarded at the Student Leadership Recognition Awards in May 2009.

“The rivalry between the Cougars and the Huskies is always evident around Apple Cup time each year,” said Melissa Ray, development coordinator at WSU Vancouver. “We really want to give our local Cougar fans a way to show their support, and help their community as well.”
