A series of six Hispanic Heritage Month events are planned by the Associated Students of WSU Tri-Cities. All events are held at WSU Tri-Cities, 2710 University Drive in Richland. Admission to each event is free and open to the public.
National Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. Congress established National Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and expanded in 1988 to a month-long recognition of the accomplishments of Hispanic-American citizens. Discussion Forum: Changing Gender Roles in Latin Culture, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Atrium. Forum participants include WSU Tri-Cities students Gloria Diaz and Sara Sanchez talking about the challenges they faced in continuing their educations.

Washington State University Tri-Cities is located along the Columbia River in Richland, Wash.
