Rodenberg Presented with the Five Million Dollar Club Award

SPOKANE, Wash.— At the recent Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Professional Development Conference John Rodenberg, Washington State University certified business advisor with the Tacoma SBDC, was recognized for his outstanding contributions and was presented with the Five Million Dollar Club Award for 2007.

During 2007 additional funding acquired for Washington businesses through the direct work of SBDC advising was over $107 million network-wide. The SBDC Lead Office acknowledges these contributions of individual Certified Business Advisors by awarding a One Million Dollar Club award, a Five Million Dollar Club award, and a Ten Million Dollar Club award to individuals whose advising impacts to the Network exceeded one million, five million or ten million dollars in the communities they serve.
 
Brett Rogers, state director of the Washington SBDC, notes, “Helping clients access the capital they need to succeed and grow is a key service of the SBDC. The work that John Rodenberg has done with SBDC clients has created many benefits not only with individual business owners, but has also increased the economic vitality of the Tacoma area which he serves. I am pleased to present John with the Five Million Dollar Club award to honor his abilities to assist his clients in obtaining capital and financing for their businesses.”

As a Certified Business Advisor, Rodenberg provides no-fee, confidential advising to clients on loan application packages, forecasting, all aspects of debt and equity funding, written business plans, business turn-around, market positioning for small companies, developing new groups of customers, managing production costs, site selection for retailers, expansion from a single location to multiple units, planning for trade shows and other topics.

Rodenberg, who operates his center on the campus of Bates Technical College, holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Montana State University. He brings more than 25 years of business experience to the Washington SBDC with knowledge in production, engineering, product management and sales supply from his corporate career and his small business management.

The SBDC provides no-charge confidential counseling and low-cost training to current and prospective business owners. It is a cooperative effort between Washington State University, Western Washington University, community colleges, economic development organizations and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
