Program receivesprestigious award

PULLMAN – WSU Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship Institute received the 2008 Kauffman Award for Excellence in Engineering or Technology Entrepreneurship Education.
 
WSU College of Engineering and Architecture faculty members Robert Olsen and Denny Davis will be presented with the award during the June meeting of the American Society for Engineering Education meeting in Pittsburgh.
 
The award is sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and administered by the Entrepreneurship Division of the American Society for Engineering Education.
 
It recognizes an individual or team’s leadership and innovation in engineering/technology entrepreneurshipeducation.
 
Previous award recipients include the University of Texas, Pennsylvania State University and Stanford University.
 
The WSU Harold Frank Engineering Entrepreneurship Institute began with a $3 million gift from Harold (BS EE 1948) and Diana Frank in 2004.
 
Its centerpiece is the “Frank Fellows” program, a year- long set of courses and workshops designed to introduce a group of undergraduate engineering and business students to technology entrepreneurship.
