COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho A one-day conference designed for a wide range of healthcare providers, agency personnel and seniors will be held May 22 at North Idaho College, Edminster Student Union Building. The conference is presented by the Area Agency on Aging of North Idaho.
“Pathways to Financial Health” is designed to provide a unique opportunity for sharing and support between financial representatives, health care providers, agency personnel, and seniors throughout Idaho. It will provide a forum for addressing the challenges of assuring financial health in the years following retirement. Topics to be addressed include Understanding Medicare and Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, Caregiver Legal Issues and Ethics, Investment Strategies, Estate Planning and Trusts, and Identifying Resources for Low-income Homeowners.
Keynote speaker is Tod D. Houston, field marketing director of Genworth Financial. Houston will offer an educational approach to protecting against the risks faced in retirement including escalating health care costs, long term care, dependence on federal and state retirement assistance programs, and diminishing returns on investments.
Other speakers representing AARP, the Idaho Dept. of Insurance, community resource agencies, financial planners, and members of the legal profession who specialize in services for the senior population will provide valuable information for seniors, caregivers, and professional service providers.
