May cherry treesnow in blossom

Just in time for May Day and graduation ceremonies, the Yoshino cherry trees are in full bloom. Planted at the campus arboretum and around the French Administration building in 2002, the trees were originally a gift from Koichiro Iwasaki – WSU alumnus and
member of the Board of Governors for the WSU Foundation. The gift was also supported by donations from Nori Suzuki, president of International Christian University in Tokyo.

In April President and Mrs. Floyd, and a group of administrators and staff visited Japan where they saw Iwasaki and Dr. Suzuki, more than 125 alumni and visited universities with which WSU has longstanding relationships.
