Several candidates for vice president of University Relations have been identified, but letters of interest will continue to be accepted through April.
The search committee plans to complete candidate selection by June-August 2008.
As part of the recruitment stage, ads have been placed in various national publications, said Howard Grimes, search committee chair and vice president for research and dean of the Graduate School.
In addition, the university has hired the Chicago firm of Campbell & Company to help identify national candidates. The firm has identified several to bring forward, Grimes said.

Prioritization decision due May 5
The Academic Affairs Program Prioritization phase II task force completed its charge on April 15 and its list of recommendations has been submitted to Provost Robert Bates.
According to the AAPP timeline created in January, Bates has until May 5 to evaluate the recommendations, gather additional information from deans and administrative leaders, and decide which recommendations will beimplemented.
The AAPP process is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen WSU’s core mission as a land-grant research university. It will identify and enhance those premiere programs where WSU has attained, or is poised to attain, national and international stature.
