The first full statewide testing of WSU’s new Crisis Communication System (CCS) is slated for 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
A test message will be sent to each campus via the CCS system to all students, faculty and staff, who have registered their name and contact information with the WSU emergency system. The message delivery mode will depend directly upon each person’s emergency contact preferences — i.e. office phone, home phone, cell phone, text messaging and e-mail.
The WSU Pullman campus also will broadcast a test message over its Campus Outdoor Warning System, which features a siren/loud speaker system that can be heard campuswide.
The CCS voice and text message will state: “This is a test of the WSU Pullman Alert system. This is only a test. Please remember to confirm you were contacted by following the instructions at the end of this message.”
Currently, about 22,566 of all faculty, staff and students (about 83 percent) have entered their information on the emergency messaging registration system on the WSU Pullman campus. Very few people from WSU Extension/Research , however, have signed up.
If you have not entered your information into the emergency register, please do it today by clicking on the following link, to https://wsu.edu, then clicking on the “myWSU” link on the top navigation bar. Once you’ve logged in, scroll to the bottom of the myWSU page and click on the “Register” link under the brown Emergency Notification headline, and fill out the information.
People who entered their information previously are urged to go to the emergency registration page and review their information to make sure it is correct and current. The registration page has recently been improved providing more options for contact information.
