Harlem Gospel Choir to Perform at Beasley

PULLMAN, Wash.– The Harlem Gospel Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 19 in Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. This event is part of the Washington State University Visual, Performing, and Literary Arts Committee (VPLAC) 2007-2008 thematic series “Unity through the Arts” and is free to the public.

The world famous Harlem Gospel Choir was founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey, who got the idea while attending a celebration honoring Martin Luther King at the renowned Cotton Club in Harlem.

The choir, comprised of the finest singers and musicians from Harlem’s black gospel churches, strives to make the world a more loving and peaceful place, through its music and dynamic performances; and to create a better understanding of the African-American culture and the inspirational music called Gospel.

The theme of every performance is unity; bringing people and nations together, and giving something back.
