Student leaders meet and mingle at social

PULLMAN – Student leaders from many different organizations had the opportunity to mingle and discuss issues with each other and administration Feb. 5 at the first Student Leadership Social, hosted by the Student Alumni Connection.

The event took place at the Lewis Alumni Centre. Representatives from Residence Hall Association, Associated Students of Washington State University, Center for Sorority and Fraternity Life, the Council of Multicultural Student Presidents and other organizations attended the event.

The social began at 5:30 with a program following at 6 p.m.  ASWSU President Kasey Webster and Student Regent Billy Gordon opened the evening by thanking everyone and encouraging more such events. President Elson S. Floyd followed, thanking attendees for their service to the university and beginning a dialogue about any issues or comments that the student leaders wanted to address.

Topics such as the safety on College Hill, collaboration between groups, and new residence halls were discussed in an informal atmosphere.  The Student Alumni Connection hopes to host a similar event in the fall to get student leaders working together at the beginning of the year.

The Student Alumni Connection (SAC) is a student organization that works to promote and sustain traditions important to WSU.
