A search committee assigned to launch a national search for the vice president for University Relations position has been appointed by President Elson S. Floyd.
This position is responsible for overall leadership and management of the university’s communication strategies, public relations, marketing, branding, events management, alumni relations, and internal and external relations. The committee is recruiting candidates and accepting nominations for the position.

The University Relations position came open in late October when Floyd named Sally Savage as the university’s general counsel. Savage, a lawyer by training, had served as the vice president for university relations from 2000. (For information go to the following link.)
Tim Pavish, executive director of Alumni Relations and the WSU Alumni Association since September 2003, has been named to serve as the interim vice president of university relations, until a search for that position can be completed.
