Search committee seeks candidates

A search committee assigned to help identify finalists for the vice president  for university development post has been appointed by President Elson S. Floyd.
 

VP for University Development Position Description

The Vice President for University Development is responsible for overall leadership and management of all fund raising activities on behalf of Washington State University, including campaigns, major gifts, annual giving, communications, donor relations, and advancement services.
 
In this capacity, the position works to increase major support for the university and to broaden the university’s donor base. This position is also expected to play a key role in institutional planning that integrates academic, fiscal, and development goals. 
 
The person in this position works directly with the president and academic leadership of the university to financially support the strategic priorities of the university. The Vice President for University Development reports to the president.

 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
This position’s major responsibility is to plan and implement programs and strategies to assist the University in achieving its goals through fundraising and other outreach efforts designed to enhance the University’s position as a world class land-grant research institution.  
 

The Vice President for University Development sets the vision and strategic direction for programs that seek to involve alumni and friends in advancing and supporting the fundraising priorities of the university. 
 
This position works closely with the WSU Foundation’s governing bodies, the Board of Governors and the Board of Trustees, in planning and implementing programs to advance the university. 
 
 

The search advisory committee currently is recruiting and accepting nominations for candidates.

* Bob Felton, vice chair WSU Foundation Board of Governors
* Vicky Gordon, WSU Foundation Board of Trustees
* Devon Anderson, vp corporate foundation relations
* Jeff Puckett, vp and campaign director
* Tim Pavish, interim vp University Relations
* Tony Rojos, treasurer WSU Foundation Board of Governors
* Mike Worthy, WSU Regent
 
The position was previously held by Len Jessup, who served as the president of the WSU Foundation and vice president for university development from May 2005-May 2007, when he resigned the post. Jessup returned to the WSU College of Business where he serves as the Markin Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership. (For information go to the following link.)
