Minimum wage study shows impact minimal

On Jan. 1, 2008, Washington state laws will require that employers pay the highest minimum wage in the nation.
 
Business leaders, in general, say the increase will negatively impact the economy. However, a WSU study used a computer model allowing researchers to observe the economic impact of just the minimum-wage increase, without other factors. The model showed that Washington’s economy absorbed the wage increase with little job loss, while remaining workers made more money.
