“Climate Change: Fact or Fiction?” Thursday at WSU Tri-Cities

RICHLAND, Wash. — The evidence and reasons for climate change will be presented during a lecture at noon Thursday, Nov. 15, at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

“Climate Change: Fact or Fiction” is the title of the hour-long talk by Professor George Mount with Washington State University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Pullman. Mount also is the director of the WSU Center for Environmental Research, Education and Outreach.

The lunchtime lecture is in the East Building Auditorium at WSU Tri-Cities, 2710 University Drive. Admission is free and open to the public.

“The implications of climate change concern everyone from policy makers to scientists to conservationists to business owners and the ordinary citizen,” Mount said.

Particular attention will be paid to the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports that were just published and the conclusions drawn by participating scientists. Some of the difficulties presented to policy makers will be discussed.
