Internet safety speaker coming to Beasley

Linda Criddle, an internet safety expert, will present an interactive lecture about on-line safety and protection from virtual predators at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 in Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. The event, sponsored by WSU Department of Residence Life, is free and open to the public.

“Many of us are engaged in the virtual world, either through on-line communities, personal and business transactions, on-line shopping, or simply through e-mail. Often, we are unaware that seemingly innocent information that we include on-line can put us at risk when used by virtual predators” said Coree Newman Coronado, assistant director of Residence Life.

Criddle is the author of “Look Both Ways,” a book about internet safety and is an experienced speaker for college campuses, educators, students and parents. For more information, visit her Web site at
