Golf Course to Hold Open House for Junior Golfers

PULLMAN, Wash. – Junior golfers are invited to an open house at the newly opened driving range at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The driving range is located east of the tennis courts.  Participants may park in the tennis court parking lot away from the tennis courts and walk to the range.

The junior golfers will be given a PowerPoint presentation of the construction of the golf course and a tour of the practice facility and the first two holes of the golf course. They will be the first members of the public to hit balls from the new driving range and will compete in skill contests. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served.

WSU Golf Coach Walt Williams and members of the WSU golf teams will attend to provide some skill instruction and demonstrations.

Course organizers said they plan to build a close relationship with Pullman Junior Golf Program, which has been dormant during the construction of the new course.

CourseCo, the management company that is contracted to operate the golf course on behalf of WSU will be represented by its president, Tom Isaak. Bruce Perisho, the course general manager, who will start his tenure at Palouse Ridge Golf Course at WSU April 1, 2008, will also attend.
