Riverpoint Campus is Starting Point in Governor’s Health Bowl

SPOKANE, Wash.—Today, as part of Washington Health Day, Washington State University faculty, staff, students and alumni will be logging miles in the Governor’s Health Bowl all over Spokane.

At 2 p.m. WSU’s cougar mascot, Butch, will lead the way from Riverpoint Campus to the Clock Tower at Riverfront Park as the Cougars help kick off the Governor’s Health Bowl.

Participants will meet on the north side of campus between Riverpoint Blvd. and the Spokane River in the grassy area near the Yellow parking lot. Walkers, runners and cyclists will start there and converge on the Clock Tower at Riverfront Park where other healthy activities await.

All participants are encouraged to wear their favorite Cougar wear and join the group at 2 p.m. (walkers/runners) or 2:30 p.m. (cyclists). Parking fees on the Riverpoint Campus will be waived from 2-5:30 p.m. (Please be advised that metered parking will still be monitored. Be sure to park in one of the Green, Yellow, or Red parking lots on campus. Click the Campus Map link for locations.)

WSU students in Pharmacy and Exercise Physiology & Metabolism and Nursing will be providing free cholesterol and glucose screenings, blood pressure checks and BMI profiles at the park.

The Washington Health Foundation is organizing the Governor’s Health Bowl as part of an initiative to make Washington the healthiest state in the nation. For more information, visit https://www.whf.org/HSIN/GovHealthBowl.aspx
