As the business world becomes more dependent on global relationships, the College of Business at Washington State University is focusing on ensuring its students are given the global education they need for success by introducing a new global learning requirement for all business majors.
The new requirement means that undergraduate students will need to complete either a study abroad experience for six or more credit hours; a major or minor in a foreign language, global studies, or international business; or a certificate with a major international component such as the Asia program certificate.
Students can also meet the requirement through a combination of study abroad, international coursework or international internship, customizing options to best suit their individual needs, interests and academic goals.
“The new requirement will give our students the global understanding that they need in today’s business economy,” said Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Jerman Rose. “By providing students a means to gain international experience, we are providing them with the tools they need for success.”
