Summer Art Shows Feature Erin Dengerink Madarang and Ping Khaw

VANCOUVER, Wash. – An installation by artist Erin Dengerink Madarang will be on display in the Washington State University Vancouver Administration Building gallery and board room through Aug.13.

Dengerink Madarang’s formal arts education started with a Bachelor of Art in painting at Western Washington University, with continued studies at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been seen in a number of galleries in the Pacific Northwest and in and around the Bay area. Since returning to Washington state last year, Dengerink Madarang has been working to establish an arts community in Southwest Washington. She serves on the board of the Sixth Street Gallery and has created a variety of pieces for community organizations. She is the Program Coordinator for the WSU Vancouver Business program and serves on the Diversity Council Arts Committee. In addition, she teaches drawing for Clark College Extension Program. An exhibit titled “Second Leap, Series II” featuring work from Malaysian-born artist Ping Khaw is on display in the WSU Vancouver Library, and on the first floor of the Multimedia Classroom Building through Aug. 6.

Khaw began her formal training at the Malaysian Institute of Art and then moved to the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland. She is active in community arts organizations and shows her work regularly in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. View more of Khaw’s work at https://www.pingkhaw.com. Entry to the exhibits is free. WSU Vancouver galleries are open weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The WSU Vancouver Library is open Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. through 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. through 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 12 – 5 p.m. Parking is available at parking meters or in the blue lot for $3.
