RICHLAND, Wash. A farewell reception for Washington State University President V. Lane Rawlins is set for 5 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the WSU Tri-Cities campus.
Community members interested in honoring Rawlins upon his retirement are asked to RSVP for the reception by Monday, May 14.

The reception to celebrate Rawlins’ presidency will be in the Consolidated Information Center (CIC), Room 120, at
Rawlins is WSU’s ninth president. A former WSU faculty member and administrator, he served from 1991-2000, as president of The University of Memphis before returning to WSU. He assumed office as WSU’s president on June 8, 2000.
In addition to family ties to the Tri-Cities, Rawlins has supported the regional campus’ growth into a four-year program with the Fall 2007 admission of freshmen and sophomores.
