St. Petersburg Classic Ballet performs for youth at Beasley

The  Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet performed at Beasley Coliseum on Sunday for the public and on Monday for 5th graders from all over the Palouse including students from Pullman, Moscow, Garfield, Colton and Genesee.

The ballet company, under the artistic direction of prima ballerina, Marina Medvetskay­a, is one of St. Petersburg’s most well-respected ballet companies. Founded in 1996, it has performed to acclaim throughout Russia, the states of the former Soviet Union, England and Scandinavia. 

The troupe, which made its U.S. debut tour during the 2001-2002 season, has returned each year since then and is now planning its seventh tour of North America for the 2007-2008 season.
