PULLMAN, Wash.Cathryn Claussen, coordinator of Washington State University’s Sport Management Program and co-author of a new sport management textbook, will be recognized for her professional contributions on March 2 by the Sport and Recreation Law Association (SLRA). “In each of these roles, Cathy used her unique skills, intellect, and good nature to make a substantial impact on our organization,” said Stacey Altman of
Claussen joined the WSU faculty in 2000. Her scholarly publications include a new co-authored textbook, “Sport Law: A Managerial Approach;” three chapters in each edition of the Law for Recreation and Sport Managers textbook; and numerous journal articles. Her research is focused primarily in the areas of constitutional and civil rights in the context of sport.
“Our students are fortunate to have someone with Cathy’s national stature, commitment and enthusiasm to the field of sport and law,” said Phyllis Erdman, chair of WSU’s Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology. “We are very proud of her.”
