WSU ICN presents seminars for nursing entrepreneurs

Spokane–The Washington State University Intercollegiate College of Nursing will present “Nurses in Business – Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit,” a business speakers’ series for nurses, from 4 to 6 p.m. on three consecutive Wednesdays in February (Feb. 7, 14, and 21).

On Feb. 7, Jerman Rose, director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the WSU College of Business, will be the featured speaker. Alice Dupler, JD, APRN-BC, will join Rose on Feb. 14 and discuss business law practices.

At the final seminar on Feb. 21, six panelists will present their views as owner-operators of health care businesses and will answer questions posed by seminar participants.

Featured as panelists will be Amy Doneen, MSN, ARNP, clinic director of the Heart Attack Prevention Clinic; Wendy Ohme, MN, RN, case manager and certified life care planner; Linda Shea, RN, consultant and certified life care planner; Ryan Townsend, MN, ARNP, private practice psychiatric nurse practitioner; Roberta Wiggs, ARNP, with ARNP, Inc.; and Joan Zimmer, Country Homes Medical Center.

“Nurses in Business – Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit” is a new series presented by the WSU Intercollegiate College of Nursing to help inspire nurses who are thinking about starting their own business.
