PULLMAN, Wash.- The Washington State University Foundation honored Jacquelyne “Jacque” Doane of Yarrow Point, Wash., as the recipient of the 2006 Weldon B. Gibson Distinguished Volunteer Award, presented during the Foundation’s Annual Recognition Dinner Gala.
“Jacque embodies the values and spirit of the WSU mission in everything she does,” said WSU President V. Lane Rawlins. “On behalf of the entire WSU community, I thank Jacque for making her alma mater a better place through her gracious commitment of time, talent, energy, and leadership.”
A recipient of the College of Pharmacy’s Kennedy-Making a Difference Award in 2001 and of the WSU Foundation’s Outstanding Volunteer Service Award in 2005, Doane has been an active volunteer and supporter of Washington State University since her graduation from WSU in 1972. She has been a member of the WSU Foundation Board of Trustees since 1991, chairing the Foundation from 2000-2002. She served on the WSU Foundation Executive Committee for a record of nine years.
Doane served on the WSU Foundation Board of Governors (2004-2005) and was a member and chair of the WSU Foundation Recognition Committee (1992-1996). She co-chaired the College of Pharmacy Campaign Committee (1993-1996), was a member of the Campaign WSU Steering Committee (1993-1996), the College of Pharmacy Fund Raising Committee (1998-1999), Trustee Campaign Committee (1993-1996), director of the WSU Alumni Association for King County (1989-1995), deputy director of the WSU Alumni Association (1986-1989), member of the President’s Associates Cabinet (1993-2004), and the President’s Associates Council-Seattle (1997-2004). She has been chair of the Presidential Scholarship Committee since 2004, and a member and chair of the WSU Foundation Nominating Committee since 1991.
