WSU Sixth Annual Cougar Pride Days Set for March 28-April 6

PULLMAN, Wash. — Planning is underway for the sixth annual Cougar Pride Days at Washington State University. The 10-day spring clean-up and celebration will be held March 28-April 6, on the WSU Pullman campus and in the city of Pullman. As in past years, those at WSU campuses in Spokane, the Tri-Cities and Vancouver are expected to participate, although not necessarily during the same time frame.

University students, staff and faculty and area resident volunteers take part in a variety of Cougar Pride Days activities, from garden maintenance and mulch spreading outside to dusting and sweeping inside buildings.

The Associated Students of WSU is coordinating student participation during the days, which include an opening ceremony March 28 at Pine Street Plaza on the Pullman River Walk in downtown Pullman and conclude with an awards ceremony, April 6, on Terrell Mall on the WSU campus. Both ceremonies start at 12:35 p.m.

“An important part of this event is and always will be spring cleaning. But, in addition to that service aspect, Cougar Pride Days might expand into other areas. For example, ASWSU leadership is considering a student scavenger hunt, a street fair and involvement of WSU Athletics,” said Ev Davis, Cougar Pride Days committee chair and WSU associate vice president for facilities operations.
