The foundation’s been laid, the baton’s been passed, and under leadership of Coach Tony Bennett, the WSU Cougars rocked the collegiate basketball world last night as they handed defeat to the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The Cougs performance was marked by a consistently strong, aggressive defense, and a sporatic but patient offense. Despite lackluster performance at the foul line, WSU grappled its way from behind to defeat the Zags, as a vocal WSU crowd gave its enthusiastic support.

It was the first time in nearly a decade that Beasley has been sold out for a basketball game.

The Cougars men’s team will return to Beasley on Dec. 16 to face off against Cal State Northridge, followed by Jan. 4 against Arizona State and Jan. 6 agains Arizona.
