Tickets went on sale to the public Oct. 30 for the 15th annual Madrigal Dinner, to be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Pullman, 1410 NE Stadium Way, Dec. 1 and 2. Seating begins at 6 p.m. both nights.
The event has been moved off campus this year because of the closing of the Compton Union Building for construction.
Tickets will be available through Beasley Coliseum Ticket Office in Pullman and through any TicketsWest for $48 per person. Patrons are encouraged to order tickets early, as seating is limited.
The Madrigal Dinner takes participants back to the Renaissance, as they experience the music and theatrics of the WSU Madrigal Singers, conducted by Associate Professor of Music Lori Wiest, with musical guests, the WSU Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Associate Professor of Music David Turnbull.
Diners will be treated to appetizers and spiced cider, an autumn leaf salad of baby greens, cranberries, almonds, mandarin oranges, and apples in an orange vinaigrette, stuffed pork loin chop with roasted red potatoes and orange ginger carrots and caramel apple crisp with coffee. A vegetarian main course is available. The event will be catered by Memorable Events.
After purchasing tickets, diners may send an email to lwiest@wsu.edu to request a vegetarian selection corresponding to their table and seat number on their ticket.
The Madrigal Dinner was created in 1992 as a partnership between Wiest and the WSU Madrigal Singers from the School of Music and Theatre Arts and the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program (now the Hospitality Business Management program). The first Madrigal Dinner, presented by the WSU Madrigal Singers, was a sold-out performance of 50 people in Todd Hall Dining Room. Due to the need for a larger space, the event moved to the CUB Ballroom in 1993 and doubled the size of the audience that same year. As the popularity of the event continued to grow, it was expanded to two nights.
