Published Poets Featured at Oct. 27 WSU Tri-Cities Event

TRI-CITIES, Wash.  Two poets, Paula Coomer and Kathleen Flenniken, will be featured at a free public event Friday (Oct. 27). This event begins at 8 p.m. and will held at Washington State University Tri-Cities, East Building Auditorium, 2700 University Drive, Richland.

Both featured poets have recently published a new book of poems: Coomer’s “Devil at the Crossroads” (Sandhill Press) and Flenniken’s “Famous” (University of Nebraska Press).  These artists have won numerous awards and fellowships, and both live and write in Washington state.  Following the reading, there will be an open mic from 9 to 10 p.m.

The WSU Tri-Cities Reading Series is coordinated by the College of Liberal Arts faculty.  It features Washington state poets and fiction writers twice a year.  These events are developed to appeal to the community by selecting writers from both inside and outside the academic world and by providing the opportunity for community members to read their own work during the open mic portion of the evening.
