Sculpture dedication to follow art talk

A new permanent sculpture in front of the Holland and Terrell Libraries will be dedicated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in honor of former WSU President Glenn Terrell. The public is invited.

Titled “Bookin’,” the life-sized bronze depicts a briskly walking figure made of books. It was created by Santa Fe artist Terry Allen.

Allen also will present the Friel Lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Fine Arts auditorium. The lecture series is named for John Friel, a 1962 WSU Fine Arts graduate, and is funded by an endowment established in his memory by his parents.
