AWARDS & HONORS

• Mary K. Bloodsworth-Lugo is the new associate dean for curriculum and students in the College of Liberal Arts. She joined the faculty of WSU in 1997. An associate professor of philosophy, she serves on the graduate faculty of the American Studies Program and is an associate of the University Honors College.

Her research interests include practical and theoretical matters involving identity and difference, such as how social identities are formed and regulated, and how individual differences contribute to categories of social identity.

• John Hinson has been appointed chair of the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts. He has been at WSU since 1983, most recently as a professor and as director of graduate studies in the Department of Psychology. He has served as interim chair on three prior occasions.

• Grant Norton has been named associate dean of research and graduate programs for the College of Engineering and Architecture. A member of the WSU faculty since 1991, he is the Herman and Brita Lindholm Endowed Chair and professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
