Business College plans Cougar Golf Classic

The WSU College of Business is gearing up for the 2006 Cougar Golf Classic, to be held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at the Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Oregon (www.langdonfarms.com). This is the first year for the event, centered around the WSU vs. Oregon State University football game in Corvallis, Oregon on Oct. 7.

The event will include 18 holes of golf, a brief “State of the College” address from Dean Eric Spangenberg, top-of-the-line tee prizes, and lunch with a silent auction featuring emcee Ian Furness, the drive-time host from Portland’s “1080 the Fan.”

Additionally, there will be a raffle held Friday following the tournament. The raffle winner will receive a two-night stay in the world-renowned Fairmont San Francisco, a spa package for two at the California Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, and dinner for two at the Laurel Court Restaurant. The raffle is open to everyone; you do not need to enter the tournament, or be present, to win.

“Cougar alumni and friends will be able to make a fun weekend of golf, football and Cougar spirit,” says Justin Marquart, assistant director of development for the College. He adds that the golf course is located just off of I-5 near Portland, less than one-and-a half hours from Corvallis.

Funds from the golf tournament and raffle will support student, faculty, and program excellence within the college.
