Two WSU Spokane staff members have been selected by their colleagues to receive 2006 Staff Excellence Awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the campus and the greater Spokane community. Both received a personalized plaque and a $1,000 award supported by Spokane Teachers Credit Union.
Named recipient of the Civil Service Staff Excellence Award was Helen Bolen, secretary supervisor for the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and a staff member at the WSU Spokane campus for the past 18 years.
Bolen’s nominators noted her dedication to WSU and the AHEC, as well as her professionalism, caring nature and upbeat attitude.
Sicco Rood, web coordinator for Information Technology Services, was named recipient of the Administrative/Professional Staff Excellence Award.
“Sicco has an easy-going manner, is pleasant to work with, and is always there when you need him. He is a model for others to emulate,” said Barb
