PULLMAN — Judy Doba, wife of Washington State University Head Football Coach Bill Doba, died Friday morning, April 21, at her Pullman home following a four-year battle with cancer.
“I cannot adequately convey our thank you to the Cougar Nation and Pullman community for the overwhelming support they have shown our family through the many cards, letters and flowers we have received in recent months,” Bill Doba said.
“Judy requested a very private service for family only back in Indiana and I know our friends will understand and respect her decision,” Bill added.
Both Judy (Judith Claycomb) Doba, 65, and Bill grew up in the South Bend, Ind., area and first met as freshmen at Ball State University. They were married June 9, 1962 and both graduated from BSU the next day. They were married 43 years.
She is survived by her husband, son Scott, daughters Kristen and Beth, and six grandchildren.
The Dobas have asked no flowers be sent to their home or WSU. The family has designated three organizations for those who want to make a donation in Judy’s memory: The Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary’s Patient Comfort unit (835 SE Bishop Blvd, Pullman, WA 99163), the United Way of Pullman (425 East Main, Pullman, WA 99163) or St. Thomas More Chapel and Catholic Newman Center (820 NE B Street, Pullman, WA 99163).
