Website compares data about students nationwide

The Institute for College Access and Success launched a website today that is designed to make it easier to compare economic data about students at colleges across the country.

The website, Economic Diversity of Colleges, or Economicdiversity.org, has data showing the extent to which public and private colleges and universities enroll undergraduates from various economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds.

For example, the site gives users the percentage of students who applied for federal student aid or received Pell Grants, family-income distribution, average educational-loan debt, and other statistics for about 2,700 institutions, including community colleges, and public and private four-year universities and colleges. To explore the site, go to Economicdiversity.org. Or see an article by the Chronicle of Higher Education at http://chronicle.com/daily/2006/03/2006031602n.htm
