PULLMAN,
The site has been inspected by arborists and the process of felling trees that were uprooted but are being held upright by adjacent trees has begun. University officials said they will seek bids on cleaning out the downed trees on the site. About 200 trees were felled by high winds on Feb. 17 and 18 and another 50 were uprooted.
Funds raised from tree salvage will be used to support 4-H programs that use the site. No date has been set for reopening the forest to public access.
