PULLMAN, Wash. — Tickets for the Washington State University benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will go on sale beginning Feb. 13. Student tickets are $6 and non-student tickets are $8.

Tickets will be available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the west entrance of the Compton Union Building. Tickets will also be on sale during regular business hours at The Women’s Resource Center on the WSU campus in the Wilson Building, room 8; Brused Books, located on Main Street in Pullman; and at The Daily Grind, also on Main Street in Pullman.

The 2006 benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will be performed Feb. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. All performances will be at the Jones Theatre in Daggy Hall on the WSU campus. “The Vagina Monologues” has been performed at WSU for the past three years. It has sold out every year.

All proceeds from the WSU benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will be donated to Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, The Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and The 2006 V-Day Spotlight: Justice to ‘Comfort Women’. Last year, WSU raised more than $8,000 for organizations helping to end violence against women.

“The Vagina Monologues” is a play based on Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women about their experiences with sex, violence, and life in general. The result is a combination of voices with happy, sad, funny, heartbreaking, empowering and outrageous stories to tell. “The Vagina Monologues” are part of V-Day, a worldwide effort to stop violence against women through education, awareness and fundraising.
